NIC Forum
Readers from all over the world join in discussions of previous surveys. Both (grand)masters and club players shed their light on new opening developments and search together for the truth.

Sosonko's Corner
'In chess nobody has ever died from a check' is as valid a proverb as 'never forsake a check - it might be mate'. Genna Sosonko gives a host of examples of checking in the opening, which paid off.

Book Review
This time the core of Glenn Flear's book review is a comparison between two new monographs on the Leningrad Dutch: one in English (Valeri Beim: Understanding the Leningrad Dutch, Gambit 2002) and one in German (Stefan Kindermann: Leningrader System, Chessgate 2002).
He also liked a new publication by two Polish authors on the venerable Cambridge Springs.
