Sosonko's Corner
'In chess nobody has ever died from a check' is as valid a proverb as 'never forsake a check - it might be mate'. Genna Sosonko gives a host of examples of checking in the opening, which paid off.

Book Review
This time the core of Glenn Flear's book review is a comparison between two new monographs on the Leningrad Dutch: one in English (Valeri Beim: Understanding the Leningrad Dutch, Gambit 2002) and one in German (Stefan Kindermann: Leningrader System, Chessgate 2002).
He also liked a new publication by two Polish authors on the venerable Cambridge Springs.
