PETROSIAN MEMORIAL
The match between 'Armenia', led by Garry Kasparov, and 'The Rest of the World', led by Vishy Anand, was one of the most splendid chess spectacles in recent years. A superb venue at the luxurious Ararat Hyatt Hotel smack in the centre of Moscow, great players and a press room filled with legends made for an unforgettable event. The ROW won 18½-17½.

WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
In Elista, Bulgaria's Antoaneta Stefanova became FIDE's radiant new chess queen. In Elista? Wasn't the Women's World Championship scheduled to be held in Batumi? Evgeny Atarov travelled to the Kalmykian capital and tells the story.
