ANAND IS HAVING FUN AGAIN
Vishy Anand had no problem pinpointing the secret of his success at the Eurotel World Chess Trophy, easily the strongest chess event ever held on Czech soil: 'I came here to have fun, to play some exciting chess and it worked.'

INTERVIEW: BESSEL KOK
Everyone present at the peace summit in Prague agreed that this historic show of unity would have been impossible without the resolute input and managerial talent of Bessel Kok. Talking to Dirk Jan ten Geuzendam, the host of the meeting explains that the future of chess looks brighter than ever if all parties continue to work together.

LEKO BOUNCES BACK IN DUBAI
The Hungarian number one is often criticised for being too peaceful. At the inaugural FIDE Grand Prix tournament in Dubai, Peter Leko demonstrated that his fighting skills are generally underrated when he stood firm in no less than four must-win situations.

WITH EYES WIDE SHUT
He hadn't played a blindfold game in seven years, but this lack of practice did not stop Alexander Morozevich from claiming top honours at his debut in the prestigious Amber rapid and blindfold tournament in Monaco.

SAO PAULO CHESS CLUB 1902-2002
On the occasion of its centenary Herman van Riemsdijk describes the history of Brazil's most prestigious chess club. While searching the archives and old newspapers the current club president unearthed three unknown Capablancas.

POIKOVSKY
In faraway Siberia Alexander Onischuk clinched his first international victory playing under the American flag.

BUNDESLIGA
For the second year running the Lbeck juggernaut dominated the German Bundesliga, the strongest club team competition in the world.

S.O.S.: THE CLASSICAL COBRA
Jesper Hall explains the merits of 'a bishop moving out in a snake-like way'.

TWO CHEERS FOR UNITY
Hans Ree witnessed the signing of the resolution on the unification of the chess world and ventures a cautious hurray for the new unity.

SADLER ON BOOKS

ARISTOCRATIC MINIATURES
Pawnless studies with at most seven men on the board, that's what they are. Jan Timman selected his favourites and composed a few new ones in the process.

JUST CHECKING
He's one of the most popular chess writers on the Internet, but do you know what was Mig Greengard's best result ever?
